Chung Wah Kung Fu - International System

Dr. Timothy R. Mrazek began his martial studies several years ago in Saskatchewan, Canada under Master Lee Chi Wai. In his 20 years martial arts experience, his work has been integral to promoting Chinese martial arts and culture in Canada. He currently practices Naturopathic Medicine and operates the largest kung fu school in Saskatchewan, located inside the Regina Chinese Cultural Centre.

Dr. Mrazek is president and chief instructor of the Chung Wah's Western Canadian Headquarters, located in Regina, Saskatchewan. He is Vice-President and provincial representative of the Canadian Chinese Kuo Shu (Martial Arts) Federation (CCKSF).

He has a foundation in several styles of internal and external Chinese martial arts, with a focus in Praying Mantis Kung Fu. He has a keen interest in the art of Lion Dancing.

Certified as a national judge, he is also a successful international competitor. He has received several gold medals for hand forms, weapons and sparring competitions over the years.

He has participated in numerous Master level exhibitions, performances and competitions. At the recent Canadian Martial Arts Games held in Ottawa, Canada, as a testament to the quality of his own teacher and the diversity of his training, he won six gold and one silver medals in weapons, pushing hands, sparring, weapon sparring, long range and internal style combat.

He is actively involved in several research projects in our System, and has recently assisted in the historic implementaion of the Ontario curriculum school sytem Kung Fu and Lion Dancing programs. Other projects include ongoing research and development of our Women's Self-Defense Program, Instructors Training Program, children's Kung Fu education methods, and test programs for Chi Kung Health and Wellness.

Beginning his studies soon after the Regina branch opened, Dr. Mrazek followed his Sifu to Toronto in order to continue direct learning while pursuing his university studies. He later underwent a traditional bai si ceremony where he was accepted as Master Lee's senior disciple, marking a formal lifetime comittment to his Sifu and art.

A Naturopathic Medicine physician , he also has degrees in education, music performance as well as advanced studies in massage therapy, chiropractic medicine and a deep interest in Chinese medicine.

The Daai Si Hing of the Chung Wah Kung Fu family, he spent more than thirteen years assisting with the daily operations and program instruction of the Ontario schools while advancing his own studies. He continues a close relationship with his Sifu and Simo as he makes his home in Saskatchewan.
